From pioneering carbon composite rocket technology to delivering reliable and rapid launch services, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in aerospace.   ABOUT THE ROLE   We're looking for a motivated intern to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Auckland. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing activities for spacecraft components from reaction wheels to propulsion systems.   Primary responsibilities include supporting production operations to meet customer deliveries, designing production tooling, writing work instructions for technicians, carrying out a variety of product testing, and investigating technical problems.   This is an opportunity to work on real space technology projects and contribute to missions that are literally reaching for the stars.   WHAT YOU WILL DO   Support production operations, including optimisation of processes, tooling and equipment    Assist with the transfer of tasks from the Manufacturing Engineering team to the Production team    Assist with build and test of components, including problem-solving of faults and non-conformances    Design production tooling and write clear work instructions for technicians    Support Quality Assurance documentation to meet compliance requirements    Collaborate with engineers and team members on spacecraft component manufacturing projects    Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas   WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR   MUST HAVE:     Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline    Strong communication skills with proven ability to write clear and concise technical documentation    Can-do approach and flexibility to thrive when plans change    Strong communication and interpersonal skills    Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team    Passion for aerospace, space technology, and innovation    NICE TO HAVE:     Mechanical design experience    Hands-on fabrication experience with a variety of processes such as metal machining and 3D printing    Previous internship or project experience in manufacturing or aerospace    Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing tools   WHAT WE OFFER   Hands-on experience working on real aerospace and space technology projects    Mentorship from world-class engineers and industry professionals    Exposure to cutting-edge rocket and spacecraft systems    Professional development opportunities in the space industry    Collaborative and innovative work environment    Opportunity to contribute to missions that make a difference    Potential pathway to future career opportunities at Rocket Lab   HOW TO APPLY   Please ensure you submit a cover letter, detailing why you are interested in the specific role you have applied for.
