You will play a key role in ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability of our video platform, enabling seamless and secure video experiences.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <p>In this role, you’ll:</p> <ul> <li>Design, implement, and maintain video signalling protocols and server components for real-time video calls (e.g., WebRTC, SIP, RTCP/RTP) in a highly scalable distributed system.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional distributed teams and various stakeholders to deliver high-performance, low-latency media experiences.</li> <li>Ensure secure transmission and compliance with industry best practices (e.g., end-to-end encryption, privacy standards).</li> <li>Contribute to architectural decisions and code reviews, mentoring junior engineers as needed.</li> <li>Stay current with advancements in real-time communications and video technologies.</li> <li>Diagnose and resolve signalling and media operational issues, with opportunities to enhance existing troubleshooting processes and tools; build tools and analytics for call quality and debugging (e.g., log analysis, packet traces).</li> <li>Participate in the refinement of the team's ticket backlog, estimating work and follow Agile ceremonies. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications </strong></p> <p>Twilio values diverse experiences from all kinds of industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!</p> <p><strong>Required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years experience in Java.</li> <li>Experience with complex distributed systems or real time systems</li> <li>Experience working in the cloud, AWS, Google, Azure</li> <li>Experience with multi-threading, concurrency and asynchronous software development</li> <li>Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience</li> <li>Support Video services as a part of on-call duties</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bonus points for experience with one of the following technologies: Rust/C++,  WebRTC, Gstreamer.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Location</strong></p> <p>This role will be remote, and based in Ireland.</p> <p><strong>Travel </st
